Harmon Kardon's Cortana-Powered 'Invoke' Speaker Revealed on Company Site

Harman Kardon's Invoke will offer great sound, allow you to voice control your music and smart home, make and receive hands-free calls with Skype, get answers to your questions, and more. Samsung has a virtual assistant of its own called Bixby, created to compete with Cortana, Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant.

The design of the Cortana-powered speaker developed by Harmon Kardon was shown on the official page of the device and the images indicate that the upcoming device has the same cylinder outlook as Amazon Echo. When the speaker is activated, a Cortana light ring is displayed on the top of the device.

For now, you can register to be notified about when the Invoke will go on sale.

This speaker is still marked as coming soon but a tentative fall season release has been touted on the web page. As such, it obviously boasts "captivating sound" projected at "full 360-degrees", possibly aiming to cater to a more demanding audience from an audio quality standpoint than the Echo or Google Home. With that being said, hopefully we will see other vendors jump into the Cortana boat and release speakers as well. To set it up you'll need Cortana on Windows 10, Windows 10 Mobile, Android, or iPhone. Thurrott expects Microsoft to use the event to launch a "Cortana Skills Kit available to everyone". The website now offers you a "Notify" button for those who want to stay updated with the availability of the device.
