India belatedly confirm their participation in next month's Champions Trophy

Former IPL chief Lalit Modi leaks MS Dhoni's India Cements offer letter on Instagram

The CoA had told the BCCI on May 2 that it could sent its notice to the ICC only if all 30 state associations voted "unanimously" to do this at the SGM.

India have finally confirmed their participation in next month's Champions Trophy.

With the ICC clipping BCCI's financial wings in its new revenue model, the Indian cricket board was not too happy and was contemplating pulling out from the mega event and thus the meeting to make a unanimous decision on the same.

Acting BCCI president C. K. Khanna ended the speculation surrounding India's participation in the Champions Trophy, confirming to Sportstar that the team will not be withdrawn from the tournament. Meanwhile, the selection committee of the BCCI is all set to meet in Delhi on Monday.

In the wake of the ICC proposing a new financial model which reduces the BCCI's revenues from United States dollars 570 million to USD 293 million, the latter had deliberately missed the April 25 deadline for submission of the squad and that there were speculations that they might pull out of the tournament. The squad will be named tomorrow, the Indian board said in a release. The standoff continued further when the revenue model was revised and the BCCI again rejected the ICC's proposal of an additional 100 million, at where the original is 293 million.

At last month's ICC meetings, the BCCI was outvoted 13-1 in its bid to halt the revised deal which considerably slashes India's share from global events in the 2015-2023 cycle. "We will inform the Supreme Court about their concerns", a source close to COA said.

"The Board unanimously authorised the acting honorary secretary of the BCCI to continue negotiations with the ICC in the best interest of the BCCI while keeping its legal options open", it said in the statement.

The BCCI members had held a meeting with the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Saturday where it was decided that BCCI would avoid a confrontational approach.
