Scotland needs choice on independence at end of Brexit: Sturgeon

Nicola Sturgeon at the UN

"She claims we must have a referendum on independence because we're leaving the EU".

The Proctor, Professor Lorna Milne, Association President and Association President-elect, Charlotte Andrew and Lewis Wood, also attended, along with members of staff.

"And her flirtation with Efta would leave us with all the obligations but no voice in decision-making".

"Only then can we protect Scotland from the dangers of an unopposed Tory government at Westminster and continue to make Scotland the best country it can be".

Former Scottish first minister Alex Salmond has dismissed the "vainglorious boast" that the Tories could steal his seat in the upcoming election.

Polls have suggested a third of Nats voters wanted to leave the European Union and critics yesterday accused Ms Sturgeon of trying to woo back Brexit Nats.

She also urged young people to say no to another referendum.

Past year the Scottish Conservatives fought the Holyrood election on a pledge to bring back the charges in Scotland, with Ms Davidson saying the policy had cost the NHS in Scotland £60m and that an £8.40 fee should be introduced.

However, Ms Sturgeon said she was not concerned about losing the seat.

"My position is I want Scotland to be in the EU".

The SNP leader said she was "not denying" that standards in schools were declining in the wake of critical education survey findings and accepted that the Scottish Government must "do better".

The First Minister wants to hold a second independence referendum sometime between autumn 2018 and spring 2019, arguing this is necessary to give Scotland - which voted against Brexit in 2016 - the chance to choose a different future.

People in Scotland have a choice - they can elect Tory MPs to rubber stamp every cut at Westminster, or they can elect a strong team of SNP MPs to stand up for Scotland.

Analysis of the results in the two councils that make up Gordon - six wards in Aberdeenshire and two in the City of Aberdeen - show that while the Conservatives got most first-preference votes in those eight wards, they actually won fewer council seats than the SNP.

"For years, the First Minister has told me time after time of her commitment to mental health, but there is very little evidence of improvement".

"SNP neglect has led to a lost generation of Scottish children who are simply not getting the education they need and deserve. There must be the ability with will on both sides to get an early certainty around these kind of things".

"Everywhere I go, the SNP follow". In the next parliament regardless of how people feel, they have to know that Europe is going to be a major issue.

Meanwhile, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie will focus on mental health on a visit Loch Leven Larder in Kinross.
