Nigerian music export, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has won the highly coveted "Best International Act: Africa" at the 2017 BET Awards. For viewers without cable, a livestream will be available on BET.com, as well as on YouTube.

The 2017 "BET Awards" will air Tuesday 27 June at 9pm on BET - Sky 187 / Virgin 184 / Freesat 140.

Bruno Mars, Mary J. Blige, Gucci Mane, Chris Brown, Big Sean, Trey Songz, DJ Khaled, Future and Maxwell are some of the artistes scheduled to perform on the night. The 24K Magic singer will open the award show with a performance.

"I am so excited to be hosting The BET Awards this year", she said in a statement.

Presenters include Jamie Foxx, Queen Latifah, Trevor Noah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Issa Rae and Yara Shahidi.


The complete list of winners would be announced at the grand ceremony slated for June 25, at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Fans hoping to get a peek at some of the action going on backstage can check out Twitter starting at 8:30 p.m. EDT on Sunday for a livestream capturing behind the scenes moments.

The 2017 nominations are being led by Beyonce who has been named in seven categories. "Other nominees include Solange, nominated for four awards and who is up against sister Beyoncé for 'Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.' Chance the Rapper and Migos receive four nominations as well, Chance the Rapper nominated for 'Best Male Hip-Hop Artist" and 'Best New Artist" and Migos for 'Best Group" and 'Best Collaboration" for their #1 hit "Bad and Boujee" with Lil Uzi Vert Award.

Earlier this month BET Networks revealed iconic R&B group New Edition will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2017 "BET Awards".
