Kratos Goes Full Dad in New 'God of War' PS4 trailer

New God of War Coming in Early 2018 to PS4

After a year of waiting, we are finally treated to some new God of War footage, displayed during Sony's E3 presentation, and personally, it looks quite promising!

Like previous entries into the franchise, the narrative centers around Kratos's family and vendetta against the gods. I love the God of War series, and I'm sure this entry won't disappoint.

In a brief voice over during this new gameplay trailer, Kratos sets a somber tone for his and Atreus's journey, as he reminds his son that "a warrior must not feel for his enemy...close your heart to their suffering".

The trailer ends with the emergence of The World Serpent, a giant snake that, apparently, wants to offer help.

From the looks of it, Kratos is struggling with fatherhood, and his attempt to reinvent himself with a new look and locale may not be working out as well as the "Ghost of Sparta" may have hoped.

Sony confirmed that the game will launch on early 2018, exclusively for the PS4, meaning it'll miss the holiday season, a crucial period for the gaming industry. Enormous trolls, screeching skeletons, and a massive beast known as the World Serpent all make their appearance, making it seem like the game will live up to the spectacle the God of War series is known for.

After making its debut last year at E3, Santa Monica Studio's God of War made a return appearance this year with an impressive gameplay and story trailer. We certainly weren't disappointed, and now we know when we can look forward to more god slaying with Kratos and his son. Gameplay includes Kratos and his son, Atreus, on their journey together, along with the lovely environment and characters you can expect to see. The details are scare, and it's unclear as to why Kratos has traveled to such a colder climate, though no doubt it involves his son.
