The JEE Advanced exams are conducted for admission into the elite Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and only those students clearing the JEE Mains exams can qualify for attempting JEE Advanced.

Students can check their results on www.jeeadv.ac.in. A total of 1,59,540 candidates (around 1.29 lakh boys and around 29,000 girls) appeared for the JEE (Advanced).

At least 1.7 lakh candidates had registered and appeared in the exams which were held on May 21. Past year only three students from the state managed to get ranks below 1,000 in the entrance examination. Students need to login to check their JEE advanced results 2017 to the details abut their marks like category-wise and all India ranks (AIR). Two of those questions were in the mathematics section and the third was in the physics section.


Children of masons, farmers, and daily wagers are among the successful candidates and are mostly from schools affiliated to the Bihar School Examination Board.

Mohit Sardana, head and director of Mumbai region for coaching institute FIITJEE, said students scored better this year as the paper was relatively easy and 11 bonus marks were awarded to those students who answered three "ambiguous" questions.

The Hindustan Times reported that the Mehtani had secured a rank of 55 in AIR in the Main entrance exam. "M Karthik secured all India 430 rank in SC category and Devendra Naik bagged 167 rank in the ST category", an official release said. The results were declared at 10 am.
