WWDC: Apple Unveils WatchOS4, Features Siri Integration and New UI

Apple WWDC 2017 Apple unveils watchOS 4

Of course, Apple highlighted new watch faces, but the big theme for the WatchOS was to provide more information and data at a glance.

Health developers say this is a promising sign that Apple will open up new pathways for them to create their own interchangeable watch bands laden with health sensors. That includes several new watch faces, like a Siri-powered face that'll intelligently show information throughout your day. Now, you'll get Toy Story faces, showing off Woody, Jessie, and Buzz Lightyear with animated vignettes.

watchOS 4 is also gaining a host of new features to help you get the most out of your workout.

Finally, the Apple Watch can now be paired with select gym equipment so data is more reliable and accurate.

Then comes watchOS 4, Apple's major firmware update for the Apple Watch. And if you're the sort who can't start a run without some music, you can pick a playlist that automatically starts alongside your routine.

Apple's WWDC 2017 event is underway and the company has announced a bevy of upgrades in various departments. There are new modes, like a swimming-centric mode with automatic sets and one for high-intensity, back-to-back workouts.

iOS 11's features will be improved slightly, with iMessages synchronizing with other devices and saving space by uploading old photos to the Apple Cloud. First of all, Activity's notifications on watchOS 4 will be more personalized to you, your activity history and goals, trying its best to motivate and keep you on the winning streak.

WatchOS 4: What is WatchOS? The software update will introduce more swim training sessions as well as an auto-set feature that enables the Watch to know when you've stopped for a rest at the side of the pool and automatically count that as a set. The watch face uses machine learning to figure out which apps matter most to you and shows relevant info from Apple and third-party apps. With the update, you can navigate through the album art by turning the Digital Crown.

Apple's watchOS 4 will be available in the fall.

WatchOS 4 is also bringing some new aesthetics in the form of a kaleidoscope watch face, which offers some interesting visuals.

The Apple App Store is also getting a revamp, picking up clues from Apple Music's design which has apparently been successful with the public. WatchOS 4 will also support native core Bluetooth. The company has addressed the problems with gym equipment as well with WatchOS 4. We'll update this article when we know more.
