Sunday, July 2: A 30 percent chance of showers before 8 a.m., but after that it should be a partly sunny and humid day, with highs in the mid-80s and a light westerly breeze. A trailing disturbance could bring a few more showers or brief rumbles on Monday, but most of the day looks dry.

We expect a good supply of sunshine across Alabama today with a high in the upper 80s this afternoon, but we do expect scattered showers and storms to form over the southern half of the state later today as moisture levels rise. Mostly cloudy Saturday night, with showers and thunderstorms likely before 11 p.m. Sunday will feature a little more sunshine, a lessening of the higher humidity and a smaller chance (30 percent) of an afternoon t-shower.

Mostly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m. Showers and storms will continue to be a likelihood especially for the afternoon and early evening for the next several days. Skies should remain mostly clear Sunday night and lows will fall back into the mid 60s.

It will try to dry out somewhat Friday, but since a front will be close to the area Friday there will still be a threat for a few scattered showers and storms. Friday readings touch the lower 90s for many, with an isolated thunderstorm or two possible. This front may slow down and possibly cause the showers to linger into the first part of Saturday to start the long 4th of July Holiday weekend. South wind 5 to 10 miles per hour. Partly cloudy Tuesday night, with lows in the mid- to upper 60s. With a third straight day of moderate to heavy rain, the potential for flash flooding is greatest on Saturday; a flash flood watch is in effect for Northern NY, VT & NH through late Saturday night. Southwest wind around 7 miles per hour.

A high near 91 Thursday, with sunny skies. High 83F. Low 63F. Showers and thunderstorms are likely tonight.
