Red Sox's Price may skip start due to elbow issues

Fred Toucher of 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston was told by a source that Dustin Pedroia "aggressively" cheered for Price when Price told Eckersley to "get the f- out of here" on a team charter plane last month.

Price was pulled from his scheduled Friday home start against Kansas City with a recurrence of the same issue that delayed his start to the season until May 29.

This expands on a previous speculation by The Boston Globe's Dan Shaugnessy about his elbow woes resurfacing.

In March, the hurler was diagnosed with a strain of flexor mass muscle in his forearm near his left elbow. Of course, if Price can come back in September, pitch well down the stretch and help lead Boston deep into October, a lot of his supposed sins will be quickly forgotten.

Since returning from his early-season injury, Price has mostly pitched well.

In a column that ran in Friday's newspaper, the Herald's Ron Borges called for the home fans at Fenway Park to "boo David Price off the pitcher's mound" during his start Friday. In seven starts from June 13-July 16, Price was 4-1 with a 2.66 ERA.
