Eric Bolling Suspended; Fox News Spokesperson Tells Heavy

Not Released

"Eric Bolling has been suspended pending the results of an investigation, which is now under way", Fox News released in a statement to several outlets.

The Huffington Post first broke the story, citing information from 14 anonymous sources from in and around Fox News and Fox Business, many of who said they'd seen the photos in question.

Bolling's attorney, Michael J. Bowe, tells NPR that the allegations are untrue, that he sent no "unsolicited" communication - suggesting but not stating there were consensual exchanges. They had reportedly allowed him to film an episode of his show, Cashin In, on Friday morning, but pulled the episode following the report from HuffPo. After Ailes was ousted as the network's head, CNN anchor Alisyn Camerota and other Fox News hosts have come forward, accusing him of similar indecencies. Apparently several news sources had been working for months to break the story before HuffPost's publication.

The allegations against Bolling are the latest made against Fox News personalities. In her Facebook post, she said she also experienced "sexual harassment and gender discrimination" from Bill O'Reilly and Woody Fraser, a close friend of former Fox CEO Roger Ailes who served as a consultant at the network.

He was a longtime co-host of the Five and recently began a gig as co-host of a new afternoon show known as the Specialists.

Bolling, a co-host of the Fox News program "The Specialists", is a vocal defender of President Donald Trump. The recipients claim the texts were sent by Bolling because of the phone number, which they recognized from work-related interactions.

Fox News also confirmed Bolling's suspension to BuzzFeed News. The controversy comes after Fox had to suspend one of their star hosts on Friday. Over the past few years, Trump has tweeted praise and support for Bolling at least a dozen times, including support for his book in 2016. Payne denied the allegations and called them an "ugly lie".

Bolling joined Fox News in 2008, coming over from CNBC, and hosts "Cashin' In".
